Educated at Lomonosov Moscow State University. Received her PhD in palaeoclimatology from University College London (UCL).

Research Fellow at the Institute of Global Climate & Ecology, Russian Academy of Sciences.

Soros Fellow, Environmental Change Research Centre, University College London.

Worked on several European Commission research projects into climate change and pollution effects on the environment.

Her areas of expertise include the effects of agricultural and industrial pollution on natural ecosystems and the developing world. Experienced in forecasting future environmental responses to climate change in a wide range of geographical  locations.

Fluent Russian and English speaker.
